The last time we saw Alex Winter’s Bill S. Preston, Esq., and Keanu Reeves’ Ted “Theodore” Logan was in 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Now it seems that Reeves isn’t just game to return to that time-traveling, rock-and-rolling world—a script is on the way.
Some sequels make you giddy with anticipation, others make you puke in your mouth a little. And then there’s the “huh … well, I’ll give that one a go” sequel. Another chapter in the slacker-savior saga that began with Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure falls in that third category. While no one has been, exactly, chomping at the bit for a Bill & Ted 3, it’s a world that Reeves seems willing to return to:
“When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened. … So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”
