DOLLY
The heart of the world was broken on August 25, 2026 when the news came out that legendary singer, musician, songwriter, actor, businesswoman and philanthropist Dolly Parton passed away. Dolly was as close to a universally-loved artist as you’ll ever find. We are joined in the studio this week by Emmy Award-winning Good Day Atlanta feature reporter Paul Milliken, who met and interviewed Dolly numerous times over the years, to remember the icon. We talk about how her Appalachian upbringing influenced her life and career, the impact of her music, her film career, her extraordinary efforts as a humanitarian, and more.
We’d love to hear from you! Please share your memories of Dolly with us and we’ll include them in our next episode. Drop us a line at modernmusicology1@gmail.com or just leave a comment on our socials or whatever podcast platform you’re listening to us.
