Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have written a script for a new film—based on a cult fave graphic novel—that could have the coolest title ever. So—what is it?
Cowboy Ninja Viking, based on Image Comics’ graphic novel by AJ Lieberman, follows a covert government program to turn schizophrenic patients into assassins. The film will focus on a patient with the abilities of a cowboy, ninja and Viking who escapes and goes after the the shady character who runs the program. Coming from the Zombieland team, you know that script has to have some great dark humor mixed in with a heaping dose of action.
To make it even cooler, this is the film’s second chance at life after Disney nixed it because it was deemed “too edgy,” according to Deadline. Universal Studios has since picked up the script with Marc Forster (World War Z) lined up to direct.
Sound off: Now, who do you think should play the super-trained schizophrenic out for blood?
