It looks like fans may just have to wait a few more months for the first look at the latest Superman reboot. Rumor has it the first official trailer for Zack Snyder’s (Watchmen, 300) Superman: Man of Steel film could debut when The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters on July 20.
The tidbit is being reported by Cosmic Book News, credited to a source close to the film.
It seems somewhat fitting that the relaunch of one of the biggest superhero franchises in history would jump into the public consciousness with the swan song of what has arguably been the biggest yet in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Plus, the fact that Nolan is serving as a producer (along with David Goyer) on Man of Steel makes this seem all the more likely.
Per the report, work on the one-minute teaser probably won’t kick up until around April, as shooting on the film is slated to wrap this month.
Man Of Steel is scheduled to open on June 14, 2013. It stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russel Crowe as Jor-El. Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Michael Shannon as Zod.
