Get ready for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. The book is as historically accurate as is possible for a book that imagines President Lincoln as an axe-wielding kick-ass slayer of the undead can be, and it’s a lot of fun to boot. Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED) is filming it now, to be released next summer, but the New York Times has a look at what we may expect in this adaptation.
Benjamin Walker plays the titular character, who discovers early in life that many of the events of American history have been orchestrated by the undead, and he decides to dedicate his life to fighting them any way he can. Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, and the film is being produced by Bakmambetov, Tim Burton, and Jim Lemley.
