Your weekly dose of geeky pop culture! Trailers, casting news, celebrity deaths and more! This week we bring you animation, superpowers and the Janeway.

It’s Thanksgiving in Canada this weekend and we chat a bit about what we may be grateful for. This discussion kind of goes off the rails, but then we get into some really good stuff. And a certain topic segway is on point!

Glow, the 1980s set wrestling comedy from Netflix was supposed to start filming season 4. However, due to the COVID pandemic, the series is cancelled altogether.

Star Trek Prodigy just announced that Voyager‘s Janeway is going to be a main cast member on the new animated show. What her role will be, or when the show is set is still unclear. Kate Mulgrew reprising her most famous role is huge news in the geek community!

Doctor Strange is going to be a major character in the upcoming Spider-Man 3 film. The doctor will be taking over the mentorship of Peter Parker now that Tony Stark is no longer with us. Filming for Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange 2 should be happening within the next month.

The Resident Evil movie franchise is getting a reboot. The first film is said to be set in the year 1998 and will be more closely related to the video game series. This means a lot more horror elements.

TRAILERS:

Fatman is the new Christmas movie starring Mel Gibson as Santa Claus. We have the trailer and a few quick thoughts on the film.

Mortal is a fun new trailer. We are not sure where this movie is going but it sure looks like a lot of fun. We want to see it.

Amazon Prime debuted the trailer for Invincible. It’s an animated comic book series but is apparently not intended for children.

And we have a trailer for a film called Archenemy. Looks to be another movie about someone with super powers.

This week’s celebrity deaths include Eddie Van Halen, Terry Goodkind and Johnny Nash.
