The 42cast Episode 156: Rocket Man

Roocketeer

It’s been thirty years since The Rocketeer graced the silver screen. A superhero story done in a 40’s pulp hero style, the Rocketeer may have been ahead of it’s time. It made only moderate profits in the theater, but has retained a cult following. In this episode we talk about what we think about the Rocketeer and how its aged. We discuss the rocket punk style, the acting, plot, and themes of the story. We also discuss why the movie may not have done as well as expected. We also discuss what we’re hoping for from the Disney+ reboot.

This week’s five-minute controversy asks whether Marvel should edit out tributes to deceased celebrities from material that was already released with those tributes.

This week Shaun, Alli, and Mark join the cast.
