Let’s be honest, one day you won’t have ol’ Grundy here to tell you what sites to visit. If you’re breaking out into a cold sweat right now, just know that’s a prefectly reasonable response. You’d do well to remember the wise words of the good book, The Hitchhicker’s Guide the the Galaxy, and don’t panic! I’ve decided to future proof my web picks. I do this at the risk of making myself expendable by automating the process…and now that I think about it, this is probably a bad move…but ESO isn’t paying me enough anyhow, so here it goes: my pick is StumbleUpon!

StumbleUpon is the cure to browsing bordem. Upon signing-up, you pick and choose among a list of interests. As an ESO reader, you might pick comics, movies and video games, all valid choices. Then, you click “Stumble” and a site matching your interest appears. And repeat. And repeat. And…well, you get the picture.

If a site particularly strikes your fancy, you can “like it” to save for later viewing. If a site is a clear miss, you can dislike it. These favoriting choices also appear in a stream of sites available to your StumbleUpon friends. Yes, like all modern discovery engines, there is a social networking element. I don’t really use StumbleUpon in that way, but if you are so inclined to follow my sites, I may start.
